Since I’m a new maker, I try to keep my pricing inline and reasonable.  I’m currently using 1095 high carbon steel as my base steel, it has been proven over time to be an excellent knife steel, it will hold a keen edge, sharpen up easily and is a great hard use steel.  I currently stock steel in 1/8th or 3/16ths thicknesses, but over time I will be able to accumulate a broader variety of thicknesses.

As of right now (August 2009) my rates are as follows:

Base Price – $12.50 per overall inch of the knife (4″ blade with a 4″ handle = $100)

Included in the base price is a moderate handle material, micarta’s, g10′s and lower end woods (walnut, maples, etc.).  Exotic handle materials such as desert iron wood or stabilized wood burls are priced out at my cost and added to the base price.

Sheaths are an additional charge as well.  Kydex sheaths are the cheapest and easiest for me to make so I have a base charge of $15.  Leather sheaths can vary in price quite a bit, depending on the type of sheath and if tooling or designing is required a leather sheath can be anywhere from $30-$50.

Please contact me if you are interested in having me make up something for you.
